This is not my ideal scenario, as the goaltending is a potential question mark. However as inconsistent as last seasons tandem was, it wasn't the only issue. I think Grubauer and Korpisalo have the potential to be better than a guy like Fleury. If that's the case then I'd rather spend the money on adding a top RW and 4th D as opposed to a guy like MAF (although I wouldn't be upset as I think he will end up here anyway)

I think the Islanders need to trade Hamonic this offseason for a forward and the flexibility to protect Pulock under 7-3-1 format. But if the right deal didn't happen for a Top-6, I could live with that trade.

I would add an additional pick or Ferland if that works?

I think Ferland would be ok. In an ideal world I would package Hamonic and say Dal Colle for Monahan but that's unlikely. I could live with that amended deal

Gillies is only a year or two from being our starter. It doesn't make sense to bring in new goaltenders

I agree that Gillies is close, but when the time comes it would give the flames the luxury of having valuable young goalies that could be traded to fill a need on the roster.

I also don't think Elliott will be brought back primarily because then they lose the 2018 3rd round pick. However I think Johnson may be back for sure.

At least 1 of Gillies/Korpisalo/Gruabuer will step up. Never hurts to have multiple goaltenders. Especially in a long season. Just look at how it's helped PIT this year. Even ANA has benefited having Gibson and Bernier. Decent idea. Not sure if anything like it will happen but ya never know.
