This is a trade that would work on NHL 17 b/c they "have the same value." This wouldn't happen in real life

Not sure they would have drafted Backstrom, in 2006, if they had Malkin at center. Probably would have selected Phil Kessel instead.

nice team... do you think they would have won the cup if they had malkin? that is a great 1, 2 punch down the center. This shows how much we under value a great player like malkin who i think as of right now is a conn smythe winner or at-least there with Erik.

They still don't beat Pittsburgh with a Crosby/Ovechkin top line.

I think having 1-2 punch is extremely important and the players have to be multidimensional. Malkin I think is the most underrated 2 way player in the game (see him under Michael Therrian, and Sullivan). His offense drives from his defense it seems. I also think the caps would still have taken Backstrom BPA. If not him brassard. Ovie/Malkin was the Ovie/Malkin draft everyone knew both would be world class players.

Ovie would not be on Crosby's line. Also I said early in their careers Ovie/Crosby team would dominate the entire league.. But last 2-3 years I think caps team would have been better suited to beat the Penguins.
