Fair question, but I suspect he'd be fairly content playing on Hughes' wing ... and Hughes would be more than happy to feed him the disc in High danger areas. Perfect match imo

Interesting to consider that NJ offered #2 oa for Tkachuk pre draft ... not sure if they had add ons. If not, their value may not be this full package, but they should be ok with no protection on the pick. Maybe 3 of 4 of those assets works with an extension in place? BCat trade was panned as poor but three of these four assets better than that package by a long way in comparison

The 2nd overall in 2022 is arguably worse than the 5th overall in 2023.

Agreed, but getting to 5 overall with Tkachuk in the fold & current NJ roster is not where they would project, I suspect
