Yeah but Krug isn't worth that term. He wastes a roster spot and a lot of cap we need to dedicate to resigning players. Anything less than 2 firsts isn't realistic

That’s just not true. Krug would only be dealt for the sake of cap space for something bigger, he is not a cap dump. It’s fine if you’re not a fan of the idea, but that’s not close to what it would cost.

That contact is going to age like milk man. He doesn't fit the timeline and he is a cap dump so that the blues can get Tkachuk in this scenario. He would absolute cost way more than two seconds. Krug won't age very well in 3 seasons or less.

The comparison deal would be McDonagh (though I’ll give some benefit of the doubt there since the man won 2 cups). A pure “you can have him” deal with not much expected in return. Certainly not a huge haul attached to him.
