I fail to see how this isn’t a good option for Detroit? Retain 50% at the deadline and turn Eller into a late 2nd round pick in 2023

i dont see a situation where we trade such a low amount for eller, barely play him, and he suddenly becomes a 2nd round pick

A veteran centre at 1.75 million come March is worth a lot to a team in the playoffs who has an injury. That situation will exist, it’s just a matter of who and when

I really don't think there is a need for Eller. Especially at 33 with 1yr left on his contract even with the additions I doubt Detroit makes the playoffs and adding a new 4th line center isn't going to have that much of an impact. I also think Zadina gets a 1yr deal and a last shot to prove himself with a new coach and a 1yr deal makes him more attractive at the TDL if need be.

I think a 2nd rd pick at the TDL would more valuable Grewe.
