Just how it worked out, he tried Alzner and he busted. Mete was never ready for NHL playing time, but was given it and then expected it (Reason why he left Montreal)
Man... what is the NHL's substance abuse policy, and how does it pertain to NHL execs? Because Kyle Dubas is hard-core addicted to former Ottawa Senators, someone please get him the help he needs.
Or better yet he should come take a gig in Ottawa, and get his fix straight from the source. Come work with the best GM in Canada and win the Cup with your favourite hockey team.
The same could be said for the Oilers GM being addicted to former Leafs, especially in FA. Ceci, Barrie, Hyman, and Campbell just to name a few.
(Those moves have generally made them better though)
Ceci and Barrie have probably played better with the Oilers than with the Leafs and Hyman probably made the Oilers better, but I think the Leafs made better use of 5.5 million in cap space last off-season. As for all this year’s FA signings (for both the Leafs and Oilers) we’ll just have to wait and see.
