Too much money for JRob and Oetter. Zona absolutely gets a better offer than that. Nill isn’t buying anybody out

Hate to be the one to tell you, but JRob is going to be very close to that. 40 goal scorer at 22, he is gonna get big bucks.

RFA contracts are all about comparable contracts. Kaprizov got 9, sure. That’s one comparable. Fiala took less than 8. Older but also more established. Norris took less than 8. Not as many points but he’s a center. Thomas took 8.125. Not as many goals but close on points and also a center. Svech took 7.75. Brady took 8.2. Dallas has zero state taxes. So on. If Nill gives him more than 7.75 without any outside interference (most teams with that much cap available aren’t going to the playoffs this year and Jason is a smart and competitive kid) I’ll be disappointed

I think your going to be disappointed. 8+ for sure. If they lock him down to a full 8 year extension.

Time will tell… we have 11 million and a little change for Oetter and JRob and White didn’t seem too concerned about getting them done for that

On the subject of Robo, even if he is paid $9M for 8 years or somewhere around there, it's not going to matter come 2025 offseason where the cap is projected to skyrocket. So pretty much two-ish seasons of a slightly overpaid 40 goal scorer...think about it.

You’re not wrong. But if JRob gets 9 and Oetter gets 4 Nill needs to shed some cap right now. Hopefully Nilly can shove enough of the lower comps down JRob’s agent’s throat to get the number down. Then we’re in even better shape in 2025. “Just throw money at him the cap will go up in a few years” seems like a bad business plan
