Staal isn’t our 4C, for 1. While Staal will be listed as the 3C, he will play more than Kotkaniemi.

Wouldn’t Dube be cheaper to acquire and we get to keep Necas, yes?

Certainly would be cheaper, but I was trying to figure out the best player that the Canes could reasonably get with Necas that could take over 1/2LW after this year. I'm skeptical that Necas will turn into a Lindholm-like player, but we'll see.

im skeptical too but, Necas looked really bad and still scored 40. I think we would prefer to keep him and see if he can turn it around. I do like Mangiapane though. If Seattle would bite on that deal, I hope we jump on it. I have an odd feeling if Patches works out here, we probably keep him around at least another season.
