I think Dobson, Romanov, and even Bellows (pre-trade) command higher AAVs but I like how this shakes out. I do wonder if Toronto tries to find a way to match for Sandin. All the moves they're making, though, make it seem like they're almost preparing for a trade or offer sheet.

I wonder how likely Toronto would be to just taking something like a 2nd and someone like Reece Newkirk for Sandin's RFA rights. Not in love with paying him the $4M, but maybe offering them the Gentleman's Offer Sheet will get you Sandin in house to negotiate a deal with a better AAV while giving Toronto more or less the same compensation you're giving them here. As said above me, it truly does feel as if they're prepping for life without him and maybe a little extra sweetener would be enough to get him without having to overpay him salary-wise.
