So 2 trades that aren’t even remotely realistic and overpaying Phil is the answer? Are pens fans on here just living in lala land to cope with this garbage day?

JT Miller is a one year rental. Throw away the Pens Future for a one year rental. Kappy, Poulin, POJ and two 2nds. That’s crazy.

Even as good as Miller is and as great of a season he had last year. One year rentals just don’t bring back that kind of return. Unless he comes with an extension.

Let Vancouver keep him till the deadline. He’ll be lucky to bring back a late 1st and a prospect and a mid round pick then.

POJ is a future top pairing LHD. He plays 25 plus minutes a night in the AHL and plays in all situations; PP and PK. He’s 23 years old and NHL ready. And with Marino gone, POJ is the Pens future point on the PP.

Poulin is 6’3, 215 pounds, still just 21 years old; Tkuchuk lite. He’s a very good two-way player too. He’s not just a top 6 or bust. He can start out on the 3rd or 4th line and move his way up if he need be. He won’t have to though. But he could. He’s not like a Puustinen or Nic Robertson though that has to be a top 6 player or he’s a bust.

Poulin’s been a top 100 prospect in the NHL on any list u can find for the last 3 years. Same with POJ. Pens don’t have many good prospects but those two are. Poulin and POJ are A or A-prospects; B+ at worst.

These aren’t just my opinions either. Literally every top prospects list the last 3 years has both of them on it. Scouts, insiders, draft experts, etc.

I mean you’re not wrong. It would be ideal if you could fleece other teams out of star players like that.

VAN doesn't need anymore wingers, or a LHD, it's not that hard to understand.

That return was also said not to be enough though..lol.

So ya, that thinking is hard to understand.

Really, I wish u guys the best. Hope u guys get whatever u need or whatever you are looking for back in return. Or resign him long term if that’s what u want instead.

I just hope GMJR doesn’t wait all the way to the deadline to trade him and his value is diminished.

He’s too good of a player not get a haul in return. If that happens, hopefully he’s able to work out an extension with the trade partner and Vancouver is able to get a haul in return.

The return isn't enough. The Canucks are asking for a 1st, a young top 4 RHD and a good prospect. Your offer only has 1 of those 3.

Two top 100 prospects, one 23 years old and NHL ready and one still just 21 years old, close to NHL ready.

Plus a 25 year old, mid 6, RW, that is a RFA and under team control (and has top 6 potential still), plus two 2nd round picks is more than enough.

Don’t worry though, no way Pittsburgh makes that trade.

And that return you mentioned isn’t gonna happen anyways unless he comes with an extension. He’s a one year rental my man. On an expiring contract.

As good as he is and as great as a season he had last year, one year rentals don’t bring back that kind of return.

Especially with most teams cap strapped as is and teams/GMs knowing Vancouver is over the cap and still has needs to fill. Vancouver has no leverage.

And if GMJR waits any longer when teams are even more cap strapped the return will only diminish.

And if he waits to the deadline, a late 1st and a prospect and maybe a mid round pick will be the best return possible. Again, unless he comes with an extension.

Maybe I’m wrong though. It only takes one team. I hope you guys get a haul. He’s a great player!! Good luck!!
