Trying to figure something out

Description
Defence at the end of the day still looks decent. But that bottom 6 currently…Hextall better dump Zucker somewhere. Use POJ as a trade chip to help acquire a top/middle 6 winger or possible a winger that needs a change of scenery. There’s really no way we acquire any current top 6 FA unless Pettersson or Dumo are moved.

Not that the value is bad, I just don't think Detroit makes that trade now after the signings we made this offseason so far.

There was a lot of moves made and maybe there’s reasons for it. Yzerman thinks the team is able to take the next step. Especially WITH all the signings. Just where do you slot Zadina where there’s a lot of Top/middle 6 wingers on the team now? On the 4th line? 3rd would make sense. But just how much would they want to play him there?

Second or third line. Perron likely gets the second line RW spot with Vrana and Copp, but Zadina could play there and Perron slot into the third line. The same thing could be said about POJ, where would he slot in now for Detroit? With Detroit signing Chiarot and Maatta not alot of room at LD for anyone. Walman, Oesterle, Edvinsson and Johansson should all be battling for that last spot and I think a couple of those guys might have an edge over POJ. If we trade Zadina it's more for an upgrade somewhere in the roster and not for a player who would be likely in an even worse spot to make the roster. That said I really like POJ and think he's a good player and will be a good player and hasn't had a good chance in Pittsburgh yet in his career. Hopefully now with Matheson out he gets a better opportunity even though he will be fighting for his spot with Smith.

I like the idea of Larsson and Motte. But with Archibald signed i don't see that happening. PLus it pushes Drew Oconnor and Zhorna both out of the lineup and they would be nice cheaper options.
Larsson and MOttoe should have been targets form the beginning instead of Archibald and Caligula.
If we can move out Mcginn they would be good replacements.
As far as Zadina detroit signed a bunch of Def this off season and has plenty of youth in their system. Zadina would need to play with a playmaking center who can get him the puck as he is a sniper but doesn't do well at creating for himself yet at the NHL level.

I was thinking POJ could slot in to a top 6 and later on a top 4 spot better than a guy like Oesterle and maybe even Walman. If Edvinsson isn’t ready for NHL this upcoming season it could be easier for POJ to crack the lineup.

I think Archibald gets the 4th line spot. He’s gritty and a decent defensive winger but he isn’t who I really preferred in that spot. But maybe he can be more healthier this season. But Caggiula is more expendable because he’s on a two-way contract meaning he can’t be claimed on waivers and can just be called up and down at any points of the season. But I think there’s still something that can end up happening for a spot to open up

Walman actually played pretty good when he came to Detroit, I'm hoping he gets that third pairing spot with Lindstrom.

That’s more than likely the plan I’m guessing
