Screw it lets contend

Description
Caution to the wind, let's go. Took advantage of a cap-strapped Ken Holland and took Puljujarvi for relatively cheap. Did the same thing for Hague, he'd probably be worth more but I didn't feel like reversing the trade to change it for a higher pick. With the expiring Ned, Maatta, Sundqvist, and Suter contracts, as well as quality prospects coming of age to take depth spots, there will still be room in the cap to give Larkin and Bertuzzi their respective raises next year. I feel like this would give us one of the most intimidating defense corps in the entire league and we would have great forward depth. I also have Edvinsson with Seider because screw it, it'd be an exciting pairing to watch. I also kicked Chiarot to the right side to fit Hague because I feel like Hague could be a killer addition for cheap and he's a 6'6" offensive defenseman who should develop very well and should thrive on the same line as Chiarot for cheap.

You don't wanna do that. PLD will force a trade to MTL for an underwhelming package within 2 years.

Oilers will happily take a 2nd for JP. Not sure Detroit wants to pay Copp 5.5m to play on the third line though.

We've got a projected $30M in cap space next year with this lineup and Berggren, Veleno, Soderblom, and potentially Hanas could/should be ready for full-time depth spots by next year on rookie contracts or cheap bridge deals.

I agree. I didn't like that signing tbh but he's versatile in the middle 9 which is really nice to have.

I think the idea of Copp is to play a top 6 roll until Kasper or someone else is good enough to replace him then he likely plays a third line centre roll or middle six wing.
