Description
It seems some of the NJ GMs on this site were warm to trading Severson for Schmidt. Schmidt had a bounce back year last year and played good at the world championships for USA. I would be willing to add but who would NJ be looking at to close the deal?
Other options would be instead of Schmidt, WPG could substitute Dillon or DeMelo or this would be a long shot and WPG would have to add more - Wheeler.

Sevo for Schmidt isn't happening, he won't have a place on the roster behind Siegenthaler and Graves/Hughes. Same problem with Dillon. DeMelo would be interesting with a good enough sweetener but would face the same problem behind Hamilton, Nemec, and Marino after this year.

Upon further thought, Devils would probably do DeMelo if the sweetener was really good, and then they'd flip him next summer.

I think there would be an insurrection at Portage and Main (our famous intersection) if our GM would trade Ehlers.

Not sure if this is what NJ is looking for but Vesalainen needs a change of scenery (along with coming back from Europe) or other prospects like Gustafsson, Berdin, Kovacevic or Gawanke,

Also not sure if NJ is interested in roster players like Appleton or Harkins.

Is Vesalainen and Berdin sweet enough?

I'd have to do some research on Berdin, but with Daws and Schmid putting up better AHL numbers I doubt it. Vesalainen we don't have room for; Devils have a huge depth logjam. It'd have to be picks.
