Get over yourself. Oilers had nothing to do with Gaudreau wanting to be closer to family. Tkachuk (also American) seeing his linemate leave for closer to home wants the same thing.

I would LOL hard if McDavid leaves when he's a UFA because he'd rather be back in or closer to Ontario then Draisaitl requests a trade because his buddy is gone.

Possibly. No different than Matthews inevitably leaving Toronto when his contract is up. It all goes full circle.

Toronto swapping Matthews for McDavid wouldn't really hurt the Leafs...nobody is gonna move to Edmonton to replace McDavid. Back to the gutter for another decade you go.

You can only dream. You're just jealous because that's where the Oilers just put you.

As a Habs fan, same thing happened with Jeff Petry, wanting to get closer to family.
Canadian teams might suffer a bit in the following few years, losing their american players who don't want to play in those covid restrictions... sucks for all of the canadian teams.

I feel for you man... losing Gaudreau and Tkatchuk: horrible

I'm not a Flames fan. I am a Red Wings fan. I am in no way jealous of the Oilers and the four 1st overall picks it took to pull them out of 10+ years of oblivion. I'm also glad you now have Detroit's sloppy seconds for a GM. The same GM that completely tanked us. All he does is build teams with overpriced vets. He's already doing it in Edmonton. Hyman signed until his late 30's. The Duncan Keith trade....it will only continue for the Oilers. when McDavid walks you'll be left with nothing but a roster filled with old expensive players and no talent around them.

LMAO what. Hyman was an amazing acquisition. So was keith he played a pivitol roll in our west final run and now is off the books because of retirement. Most other teams in the west have gotten worse, including Colorado. Edmonton is one of the few teams in the entire NHL that has actually improved through free agency. But keep hating on the GM that handed you guys your stanley cups and 20 year playoff streak.
