Drop Jokiharju and let Buffalo talk to his agents before making the trade and yes

Tkachuk shouldn’t get more than Eichel did

And anything remotely close to that package absolutely must come with an extension in place

We all know he isn’t coming to Buffalo

Buffalo has the assets to do it too. Just too bad for the Sabres that I'm not sure they'd be able to extend him.

Although I do think the Sabres will turn things around sooner than later.

Appreciate it!

I think your Sabres are trending in a really good direction and it's good for the league. Buffalo fans are some of the best and they deserve a good team and I think it's not too far away.

Still have some holes to fill, but we are getting there
The amount of talent we have coming is pretty crazy
After next draft, we’ll have had a 3year span in which we had
6 picks in the 1st, and another 6 in the 2nd
*and that’s on top of a decent group of kids we already had
(incl. Dahlin, Cozens, Quinn, Peterka, Samuelsson & Mittelstadt)

Just need to fill in a couple of those holes,
& for a few of these guys to develop into top end talents

We certainly have the quantity
Just need to develop some quality now

I don’t think he makes much sense for the Sabres at all, both with where the team is right now, and the future. We already have a 9 mil winger in Jeff Skinner, I don’t think we could afford a 10 mil winger long term. Our defense is going to be expensive with Dahlin and Power going to need big deals, and Samuelson and Jokiharju? Could also end up reasonably expensive. Tage Thompson is gonna cost 7-9 depending on if he can repeat next year, and mitts/Cozens could also need big deals. In a few years we might be hitting the cap without Tkachuk, just resigning our own guys, I think signing Tkachuck would cost a lot more than the assets we give up for him a few years down the line (similar to how Eichel just cost the knights patches and coghlan)

Well obviously with the extension, but Tkachuk is better than Eichel? And younger?

Tkachuk is 24
Eichel was 24 when he was traded as well

Tkachuk is unsigned to an extension
Eichel was signed for 6 more years

Tkachuk is a winger
Eichel is a center- a 1C, which are very hard to come by

And finally….
Tkachuk is a really good player, but not quite the MVP caliber talent that Eichel is
