Only 2 more years left after this year, its not like Varlamov is a bad goalie either, Mcpfee is the guy that Drafted him so it very well could happen.

MIN is stacked with centers and value Brodin high so I don't see that trade happening. MIN is in trouble with the expansion draft because they have so much to protect and Brodin would be among those probable choices for Knights. Therefore if a trade involving Brodin would happen it would have to take something that they wouldn't have to protect in the expansion draft (like draft picks)?

Not only are the Avs NOT going to give up an asset for Vegas to take Varlamov, they will be protecting him from expansion.

He had a rough season with injures, but the guy is still a Vezina quality goalie in his prime.

The way I see it, Colorado is going with the younger guy in Pickard who will be entering his prime over Varlamov who will be in his mid 30's and exiting his prime by the time Colorado is ready to contend.

I'd love Vegas to take Varlamov, but BSN reports the Avs will protect him.
