No, not at all. Kap had 4 goals in his last 56 games, 41 of which he was forced on Geno when he came back, and repeatedly played his way off that line. Geno also had minimal even strength points(piled up PP points away from Kap), there is negative chemistry there. No Pens fan even wanted Kap qualified. We could have easily found someone for 1/3 the cost to gain the zone, curl on the half wall and give the puck away lol

I think it’s a bit overblown than every Pens fan wanted him gone or unqualified. He had a bad year. It happens. He’s not the best player on the ice. What else do you want him to do. Much like Zucker he can’t seem to even buy a point. A lot of games I’ve watched he was always doing something. Using his speed to create chances, getting pucks on net, being a high energy winger. He just couldn’t find the net or get any points. He’s been more snake bitten then anything. I wouldn’t give up on him cause of a bad year. Look at what he did in his first year with us. He had 30 points in 40 games. He’s been a proven 40+ point player. There was plenty of reasons to keep him. And he’s 26 and still on the younger side. It would be idiotic to throw him away after a bad year. Be. Smarter.

I always thought highly of Vilardi. It just seems like he isn’t really going to get that chance. Especially with how stacked LA is now. The same goes for POJ. With how stacked Pens are with defencemen it just seems hard for me to see POJ cracking the line up. It just sucks I guess. But I highly agree with you.

Seattle: I'm not sure they want to move Tanev. He seems like a fan favorite etc. But Soucy definitely fits the mold of the Pens trying to get bigger on the backend.
