Barrie and Benson probably don’t have any real value. But if you are targeting someone like Kane with 50% retained then this isn’t a bad start

Well it's less about what it can get more about what is now needed. Right shot puck moving veteran suddenly looks pretty desirable for this roster.

Barrie has value. His contract is a relative value but given the cap constraints across the league it is difficult to move him without taking a contract back. That creates difficulty for the Oilers.
