When you have a GM that somehow stays stuck between contending and rebuilding you never will get a retool. Like as much as this would make sense I just don’t see it happening. I think it’s more likely to see the jets blow it up and rebuild than to retool. They don’t have a big enough window to retool. Hellebuyck, wheeler, scheifele, DeMelo all have contracts expiring in 2 years. If jets struggle out of the gate this season I’d expect to see some big changes. Everyone I mentioned above is likely traded, along with Dubois and they build around Ehlers and Connor.
