Don’t think Philly is doing that. Half retained JVR and Foegele plus giving up picks?

I don't see what the Flyers have to lose in the deal. JVR is for only 1 season and they know he's not a part of their long term plan nor does he resolve any of their problems. This type of trade opens doors for the Flyers to move Konecny as well. Acquiring a 24 year old former top 5 pick for minimal assets is a good idea for the Flyers long term plan.

I just think the value is tilted too much given the oilers don’t have a ton of leverage. I’m not super familiar with their cap situation but I believe they’re already well over the cap and still need to sign yamo and mcleod, both of whom I think they actually want to keep.

They need to clear Foegele and still want to move Pulj but with the trade market dried up bc cap space is an issue across most teams (especially any playoff type contenders) I just don’t think they’ll win a trade like this. Jvr half retained is actually a valuable top 9 piece, plus Foegele is a cap dump. Pulj is a nice player but teams clearly haven’t bit on him even for a 2bd rounder yet. I’d at least drop the picks going back.
