Chychrun

Created by: stuuuuuuuuuuutzle
Team: 2022-23 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 31, 2022
Published: Jul. 31, 2022

Description
I feel like a lot of the Chychrun deals I see from
sens fans (and I am one) are way too generous to Ottawa. So I'm doing one I think would be more realistic in terms of value

Idk, given the trades we saw this offseason, this seems like an overpay for Chychrun, especially since they are not adding Zaitsev in the trade

Yeah but I think Arizona is gonna be far more patient than the other teams were. I also just don't think the Senators young guys and prospects (besides Pinto and Greig) have as much value as some Sens fans think. I don't know, maybe I'll be wrong!

If we have to retain 1.3 million on zaitsev I'd just not trade him and bury him in the minors.

Also, if that's what it takes for chychrun then I'm not trading for him.

For me, if we have Chychrun, we're probably trading (in this scenario), a 3rd liner, a potentially one day 2nd pair d-man and two picks in the late 20s-early 30s for an amazing D who makes us a legit contender. I think that's definitely worth it

Can't see Ottawa trading two 1st for Chychrun.

Also that's an obscene price for Oskar Lindblom. He's mid. Sonny Milano is much better and can still be had for free.

Yeah I agree, I just think it'll take a couple picks to get rid of Zaitsev and figured we'd get a guy I like while we're at it. Also I know Ottawa probably wouldn't trade 2 1sts, but just I would and I feel like Arizona might not take the offers I've been seeing

If Ottawa is going to give up solid assets to get rid of Zaitsev it must be without any retention.

Yeah, again that's fair, I'm just not against retaining a tiny bit for 2 years if it makes a team more likely to take him

I would be happy if SJ said yes to something like this but prefer the picks would be sooner (2023 & 2024)
they'd be taking 0.7mil cap hit and already have their fair share of terrible D, so realistically don't see SJ going for it in their rebuild denial mode
