Continuation of previous post. RFA/UFA deals from 2022-2023 season are signed here with just one less year of term.

Basis for this is that the Islanders probably made the playoffs in 2022-2023, but didn’t go far. I believe 2023-2024 is the last year of Lou’s contract, so with the surprising amount of cap space we have this year, the Isles go all-in before Kadri completely falls off a cliff in 2024-2025. I think this team is good and has an “ok” shot at the cup, but in all actuality, they probably won’t win it, will be stuck in mediocrity for the next few years, and should have never signed Kadri in the first place. But whatever.

Maybe things will loosen up as cap increases, But for now - it is proving difficult to move any salary. I see you’re moving three pretty high priced bets, all good players - but it might cost you. Rumours indicate otherwise, but I would be surprised if Lou signs kadri; he’d have to move out a lot of salary to make it work and that won’t be easy to do
