This feels appropriate for both teams, I do think Barrie would greatly help Seattle's PP and would be playing further up the lineup

First of all there isn't any cap dumps included in this trade soo why is Edmonton giving Seattle a crap ton and getting next to nothing? Horrible offer oilers don't even look at.

I think the oilers would do something similar to this but instead of Broberg trade Samorukov
The 2nd and pulju easily cover the cost

Barrie is worth his contract and only doesn't fit on the Oilers cause of Bouchard

Foegle is also worth his contract and has only fallen down the depth charts as the EDM top 9 is stacked

Barrie and foegele are what I consider camp dumps for EDM. Barrie is expensive for what he provides (basically a 3rd line RD and PP specialist. Bouchard makes Barrie replaceable. 2years at 4.5 is a decent contract to move. Not many suitors for him at that price. Foegele is essentially a replacement level bottom 6 winger. That might be the easiest type of player to replace on a low cap deal. Puljujarvi is destined to be on another team by the TDL. Wennberg fills a move valuable bottom 6 role and soucy is an upgrade to Barrie and has LD/RD flexibility and more trade value at the TDL if the fit doesn’t work or a young guy fills that spot.

Barrie can be a 2nd pair defensemen on some teams, and its proven that if hes deployed with a defensive defenseman like Kulak he absolutely thrives,

I think swapping broberg for Samorukov makes sense.

Soucy isn't even a replacement level player to Barrie. People need to stop focusing on Barrie is on third pair waste of money when oilers third pair averages almost as much time as second pair.
