No from Winnipeg. A downgrade on defense and an expensive, unneeded rental isn't appealing.

Any futures that the Leafs would need to throw in to entice the Jets. Obviously there is a "cap dump" component that should be compensated.

I can't see the Jets having any interest in either Leaf.

Are they rebuilding or trying to compete?

If trying to compete then they need more depth scoring.

They're trying to compete, but I don't think they have the cap space for Kerfoot.

They should have over $4 million in cap space with 1 roster spot to fill; since Appleton's arb shouldn't break the bank.

Unless Perfetti is going to start in the top 6 this year they really are thin at scoring depth, especially at LW; and even then I would think they want depth.

Knowing they will lose Dubois in 1-2 years and with Wheeler/Scheifele deals expiring in 2 years one would think they load up now and go for it instead of staying in the murky middle.

If not a guy like Kerfoot then they should be hard after Evan Rodriques or Sonny Milano.

The Leafs are going to have to dump Kerfoot so a good chance to snatch him up cheaply if they can't add one of the good middle 6 UFA's.

I think Holl is maligned too much in Toronto as a defender and being a RHD helps the Jets balance their pairings a little better. I think Stanley is a good player too so this trade could easily extract some draft capital from the Leafs.

If anything, I could see the Jets move a mid pick for Kerfoot since he's a rental, so it's extremely unlikely they move a young player for him.

Holl is just unnecessary. Bottom pairing/replacement level defensemen are easy to come buy. He would have no value to the Jets.
