Trades
1.
ARI
  1. Coronato, Matthew [Reserve List]
  2. Lucic, Milan
  3. Monahan, Sean
  4. Strömgren, William [Reserve List]
  5. 2024 1st round pick (CGY)
  6. 2025 1st round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Calgary sheds caps space and adds a great defensemen. Arizona adds a top prospect in Coronato, and decent prospect in Stromgren, and 2 firsts for their rebuild.
2.
CGY
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (COL)
NYR
  1. Zadorov, Nikita
  2. 2024 4th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Rangers get a big defensemen that can play on their 3rd pair. Helps so they won’t have to force so many young defensemen to play now. Calgary sheds some cap and this makes room for Chychrun
3.
CGY
  1. Kane, Patrick ($3,500,000 retained)
CHI
  1. Rooney, Kevin
  2. Välimäki, Juuso
  3. Wolf, Dustin
  4. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Probably won’t happen but who knows. Calgary replaces Tkachuk with Kane. Chicago get a first in a deep draft, Valimaki who is a decent prospect, Wolf who is a stud goalie prospect, and Rooney for cap reasons.

For sure. I just didn’t feel like making moves from the Rangers side with other teams. The trade doesn’t even have to be with the Rangers. It’s just a small trade to get rid of Zadorov.

I mean I did state in the description that this was just for fun and not 100% realistic trade. If you didn’t read that then that’s on you.

fair enough, I did not read that as I was preoccupied at the time. Regardless running 6 top 4 dmen is very excessive and a wate of assets. Zadorov definitely won't be traded at the very least for PR reasons alone. And no rental no matter how good is worth moving a goalie prospect as promising as Wolf for

Is this operating under the assumption that the world will end after this season?

No I totally get it. That defense core is quite overkill but it is nasty. As for Wolf, he was really the only intriguing prospect left to send. Every other prospect is either already in the 20s or just average prospects. I had to throw him in or that trade would have looked worse. Maybe Zary instead but he had an injury that ruined his past AHL season.

Pretty much lol. It’s more so that Calgary is in win now mode. When you look at the length of most of their contracts, they have no choice but to try for a cup now. After 2024, Calgary will look completely different (whether it’s a rebuild or not) and odds are if a cup isn’t won by that time, Treliving is gone. He’s had his chance for 8 years to build his team.

His other option is staying in Chicago to try and be the worst team in the league. It depends on what he wants. If he were to be traded to Calgary it would only be for this coming season. After that he can go wherever he wants. I doubt he wants to stay in Chicago and suck for Bedard

I mean, he could be traded to a different team.

CHI declines. They will have better offers if/when Kaner asks for a trade. Also, I personally think Chychrun is overrated and AZ's asking price is way too high. I know CGY is moving a lot of cap off the books here, but giving up two 1st round picks and Coronato still seems like an easily regrettable move. With Johnny and Tkachuk moving on, moving one year of Monahan and Lucic shouldn't be as big of a concern for them. Also, Milano and Dube don't seem like good options for a 4th line. They aren't gonna do what you traditionally want a 4th line to do.

Oh he definitely could. Only a contender will try and trade for Kane, and lots of contenders don’t have great prospects or are so tight against the cal that they can’t make it work. So yes, he could be traded to a different team but its not like every team is in on him.
