This would be a very disappointing return on Kane. Hes a rental, but a rental with the potential to be a Conn Smythe favourite. Murphy isnt going to show up on the scoresheet much but he can be a physical dman that thrives in playoff hockey, he is not a throw in.

Chicago doesnt have much leverage in trade talks, but the return for these two guys needs to be better than this.

Those are fair points. I figured, barrie could be retained and garner a few picks as well if the hawks would flip him. I didnt want to go overboard on the return, Schaeffer being their first pick this past draft and adding in pool [party. Do you think taking out Dal 3rd and adding EDM 2nd to it would make it more fair?

This is brutal… Barrie, Foegele and JP combined have little to no value. Add a late first this year….

I don’t think that package even gets you Murphy let alone Kane at 50% retained

JP has little value. He’s an nhl player but nothing more than a 3rd liner with terrible hockey IQ. I get he was a 3 OA but that was years ago and he’s a very very average player at this point

Just based off the Debrincat return, it looks like they are more focused on draft picks. Controllable players that fit the 5 year rebuild.

Chicago had 3 picks in the first round if they wanted Schaeffer they could have had him. If they are flipping Barrie for picks you might as well just trade Kane for picks. But what do I know..
