Impossible MTL consider what is that ? Do some research before posting ... MTL can't even sign Kirby Dach and now you are adding 2.325M + 875K so MTL would be over the cap and that's without Dach
Oh and MTL can't ship salary out because half the roster are cap dumps : Dadonov Drouin Hoffman Gallagher Armia Byron Matheson Price ...

I’m glad you pointed that out my friend. We could start by doing some basic math here cause you didn’t do your research before posting this thoughtful comment.
Montreal is shipping out $2 mil of Jake Allen’s salary while retaining $875K and taking on Brossoit’s $2.325 mil cap hit. Montreal is getting back $2.325+$0.875=$3.2 while shipping out $2 mil, leaving them with a net gain of $1.2 mil. “But you idiot! They only have $200K in cap space! You stupid **** why are you even on capfriendly??” Well concerned commenter, you’ve already pointed out that they need to sign Dach, and let’s say he needs a contract in the Kakko range, 2 years by $2.1 mil. Do you see a contract on the roster that’ll net that? You don’t? Well then we’ll probably have to reach our hand into the “cap dump” cookie jar and trade one of those fellows you’ve mentioned above, all of which make over $3 mil. Now that we’ve dumped one of them, let say for example we dump the cheapest one, Byron, we are left with $3.6 mil in cap space, which looks like it’ll fit the $2.1 for Dach and the extra $1.2 from this trade! Wow! It all works out! See what happens when we use our heads?

Any other issues?

I’ll stop you right now
Doing that trade above makes us OVER the cap right ? If yes, then we can’t sign Dach because we won’t be cap compliant when season start. But if in your magic world MTL find a way to ship out one cap dump, then Kent Hughes is the goat GM

Signing Dach makes us OVER the cap right? Since the answer is yes, we can’t sign Dach because we won’t be cap compliant when season start. This implies that in the very real world the goat Kent Hughes needs to ship out one cap dump. QED

If Byron start on LTIR and we give Dach a 1 year deal at 1.5M, we just have to send Byron in Laval whenever he is back and we would be cap compliant 😉 with a 23 man roster

And that’s another plausible scenario. It’s just contingent on Montreal not carrying 3 goalies. If price is unhealthy => LTIR => everything works out fine. If price is healthy => montembault to Laval => you have just enough money for your dach contract (assuming he takes $1.5) and a cheap depth defencemen.

At the end of the day, you’ve presented a scenario and I’ve presented a scenario. Both are possible. Just because someone’s scenario doesn’t match up with the one in your head, doesn’t mean you need to accuse them of not doing research and living in a fantasy landc even after doing some poor math. Just my advice. Have a nice day 😉

I do suck at math I will give you that, but trading a cap dump in this offseason isn't good, it cost a lot of decent assets to do it
Maybe Kent Hughes attach Ylonen to a cap dump since he didnt drafted him, and we have too many RW for a spot for Ylonen. In their eyes maybe Mesar could replace Ylonen and he'll fit the time to be NHL ready when Armia contract expire
