Description
I'd like to see Hextall revamp this offense. Too many times under too many coaches you see the existing offense disappear.
I know the Calgary deal is outlandish, but it's a move I'd like to see attempted to bring in a player like Gaudreau....

The trade with Calgary doesn't work
You're giving them a bunch of decent pieces,
But they give up the 2 best players in the deal

Couturier + might be able to get ONE of them
The "plus" is gonna have to be better than 3rd round picks & 3rd line players though

Do Calgary's lineup after this trade & you'll see it makes zero sense for them

Philly would be a destination Gaudreau would like. Talk in Calgary is that Gudas should be a target of the Flames. The deal here makes no sense for Calgary.

In my description I said the Calgary deal is outlandish, but I'd like to see Hextall try something to revamp this offense. I'd go as far as to send Simmonds and Couturier, plus Hagg or Gudas, negotiating rights to Cousins and Laughton, and a 2nd rounder to CGY for Gaudreau + Tkachuk. I think our players are too comfortable on this team. Our GM hasn't made a significant move outside FA signings that are questionable at best that forces them to play game in and game out.
