Description
Now the team that I think will be the worst team in the NHL, Chicago.

Chicago will finish 8th in the Central. The Blackhawks were really easy to rank. Even with Kane and Toews, I still this Blackhawks team is the worst in the Central. I didn’t like the DeBrincat and Dach trades, I thought they will build their team around those two. On the blue line, the Blackhawks just have Jones, I don’t think Korchinski will be NHL-ready this year. For goaltender, they have two injury prone goaltenders. I think the only saving grace on that team is Lukas Reichel, whether he plays in the NHL this year is a question mark. He absolutely should, once Kane and Toews get traded, they won’t have much guys to take that next step. Nazar was a steal for them, but won’t be NHL-ready until the end of the year. Domi and Athanasiou are solid top 9 additions but not even close to replacing the production of DeBrincat and Dach. This team is the front runner for Bedard, Fantilli, and Michkov, the Blackhawks will be the worst NHL team this year.

For young talent, the Blackhawks should play with the 11F and 7D strategy. Vlasic and Reichel should play a full season with the Blackhawks. Mitchell is close to NHL-ready, one more AHL season should benefit him well.

Agreed. I’m honestly excited how they will play after the Toews, Kane, Domi and Athanasiou trades happen.

Kane: 1-2 firsts. A prospect and a solid roster player. Expect 50% RS and who knows, maybe they can get an additional 3rd or 2nd round pick.
Toews: 1-2 seconds. A prospect and expect 50% RS and who knows, maybe they can get an additional 3rd round pick because Toews can still play and has a tone of experience.
Domi and Athanasiou: 3rd round picks

It’s seeming like Vlasic and Reichel are probably gonna play in Rockford for the majority of this season, which is probably the smart move. IMO, I really liked the Dach trade. His development has been absolutely railroaded by injuries and management, he needed a change of scenery bad. I don’t think he was ever gonna reach his full potential with the Hawks. As for the Debrincat trade, I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Not having an extension in place really hindered the trade value, and this off-season is showing how much GM’s truly value cap space. Davidson could have kept him and tried trading at the deadline, but that gives them wins that could be the difference maker between the first overall and the second overall. I would’ve liked the addition of a decent prospect or two, but yeah.
