    Yeah, a can see the Leafs sacrificing Kerfoot for cap reasons, but the Leafs are much better keeping Sandin over Hayton, and have one of Robertson or Steeves at LW....Benn to Marlies

    im working with the assumption he wont sign if theres no roster spot

    Oh, there's a roster spot in the top 7 for Sandin. If he doesn't sign (with the Leafs), he has three options. Sign an NHL offer sheet, and he the still might be a Leaf. Sign with another pro league or retire.
    Odds are he's a Leaf.

    i could see him taking a one year to get to arbitration rights. i wouldn't be surprised if he held out for awhile first.

    Oh, I agree that he probably signs a one year deal. But don't think it would be wise for him to delay his pre season or the start of the season. He should want to be best he can be this year going for his contract next year.
