Trading BIG JEFF CARTER?!?! I’ll have none of this nonsense. Who else is going to score goals and slam bud lights on the bench?! No. No way.

In all seriousness. No thanks to that trade

ahahahaha love big Jeff Carter but at the end of the year he was starting to slow down imo and this trade would be for the 2023-2024 not this year. I know we lose the trade but I think he retires and we give up two good assets to chi to get the cap to sign another 3c

Doesn't Carter have a NMC?

Rutta first pair LHD is scary.

Imagine like 10 years ago telling people you would have Crosby Malkin Toews down the middle at some point lol

Hexy isn't moving Carter unless Carter for some reason wants to move on. There's too much respect between the two of them.

You'd be better off dumping McGinn and trimming elsewhere.

They could've, they decided to draft Jordan Staal with the 2nd overall pick in the 2006 Draft (Toews went 3rd and Nick Backstrom went 4th). Crazy fact is that they did end up with the 5th pick in that draft with the legend himself Phil Kessel

Doesn’t make sense for Pittsburgh to trade Jeff and POJ. The Pens also not winning the cup next year.
My lines if this happened…

Guentzel - Crosby - Rakell
Miller - Malkin - Rust
Poulin - Toews - Kapanen
McGinn - Blueger - O’Connor

yes but if he retires he won't care where the money come from

Tampa won the cup with rutta playing with hedman

would have been cheating lol

with these lines we would make a LOT of noise, maybe not winning it all but very close.

I think the defense takes too big of a hit.

That's true. Wonder how long they would have been able to afford all 3 of them

I'm honestly curious to see Petry and what he is able to do with the pens. if he can be a Shultz type player with that production without being a liability on d we will be fine. jarrys injuries are starting to be a bit of a concern as well-

Dude if they traded him and he immediately retired that would be hilarious.

Yeah but Rutta played the right side and only played the 5th most minutes among defenseman on the team. That's a completely different scenario.

Petry is way better than Schultz and I expect him to be quite successful for the Pens. Petry gives Geno a dman to help create offense the way Letang does for Sid.
