If Buffalo took his advanced stats into fruition (which they would) and I could see him being a solid 2nd line RW in Buffalo, it'd be a lot closer than you guys are making it out to be haha

So we trade a potential top line scoring winger for a middle six defensive winger? Pass

Hinostroza and a pick could make sense, or something involving Barrie too

Buffalo 100% wants nothing to do with Tyson Barrie or his contract. Edmonton fans have been desperate to move him to Buffalo all off-season. There isn’t much incentive to take on a bad contract for a player at a position they don’t really need.

Dahlin Barrie
Power Lyubushkin
Bryson Jokiharju

They'd still have roughly 20M in cap and gain a pick or two out of it

Since you’re not a Sabres fan I wouldn’t expect you to know that they would rather let Samuelsson and Fitzgerald continue to play and get more ice time than wasting it on an aging veteran that isn’t getting any better in Barrie. I don’t see Edmonton paying the price it would take to get rid of Barrie’s contract anyway.
