Some of you act like Kerfoot has been hitting 50 points for multiple years. He did it one year, playing with team mates who also had career years, and with little attention to playing defense. He also had a terrible showing in the play offs, which means a lot to to teams. He has one year left then is a UFA, and has a pretty sizable cap hit. Right now cap space is more valuable than anything else. Teams are not going to give up prime assets to give away this valuable cap space for a player that is a good player, but is not going to be the difference maker when it comes to changing a team from cup contender to cup favorite by picking him up. Multiple teams will be looking to shed cap, and will pay assets to do it, so those teams with cap space right now are not going to be focused on Kerfoot for a high round draft pick. Not knocking the guy, this is just the current situation in the NHL right now.
