would probably be a bad idea to trade Frankie, he is a stable backup to Georgiev and can possibly steal the starting role

Agreed, this is a forward looking deal to get a cheap young forward, add some cap for next season and allow Annunen more time with the main club

Goaltending help? They just got Vanecek. Why would the Devils want another backup with Blackwood as well? And veteran help? They are trying to trade veterans to play youth players like Zetts and Holtz. Did you even look at their roster? It doesn't seem like you know much about the Devils.

Why would Colorado trade their reliable backup goalie for a prospect who wouldn't help them win right now in a cup contending year?
