I wanted dubas to draft him :’(

It’s crazy to me how a GM who loves his coach who’s obsessed with puck possession would draft a player who’s a transition forward over a puck possession stud with great hands, Imo mercer is a more skilled Hyman with less physicality

It's really hard to say with Dumba. Earlier this summer, Russo confirmed that 4 years ago, Dubas offered Fenton Nylander for Dumba 1-1 and Fenton turned it down. Since then, Dumba has dodged 2 expansion drafts, yet he's consistently been reported as being on-and-off shopped by Guerin. That said, Russo has also indicated that there's been pretty limited interest during the flat cap (shocker, who'd have thought).

Point being, there's a lot of history to unpack with Dumba and trade rumors/value. At this point, I'd imagine Guerin either just keeps him as an own-rental or tries to flip him at the TDL with retention.

Though after all these years, it would be sorta ironic for his tenure to end in MN through a pretty unspectacular and underwhelming nothingburger type trade.
