Eberle is on block, going to try it out.

Description
Eberle is clearly on the block Gorts really has to go for it. A 20 goal season was considered a decline and he had 31 assists as well... A right handed Sniper NYR can really use. I bumped cap up to $75m, hopefully it at least goes up to that. Vatanen is hurt so I'm really unsure if his value dropped a bit to become Hayes not Miller traded? Miller and Hayes both on final seasons before UFA, either one of the 2 may make sense to trade unless Gorts says (bc Vatanen injury now, go all out for Stepan gone and have Hayes as 2C?)

I saw this elsewhere on here, now that Hellberg left I do wonder if it makes sense to add a 2nd round goalie in a trade? If not totally fine as Rangers have Shestyerkin waiting a few more years in Russia before he comes over and making a Raanta trade for a few picks?
2.
EDM
  1. Klein, Kevin
  2. Zuccarello, Mats
Additional Details:
I've seen Rangers forums mention Nash at 2-3m retained but you know what, Eberle has the ability to be a very good passer as well and is older so he can be a solid mentor to guys like McDavid especially since he's a young captain. Zucc brings heart and they save some $ for a few seasons. His passing can give McDavid several breakaway opportunities as well.
It gives the Rangers a top 6 sniper that is needed and may finally be the top liner needed to help Nash crack 40 again and have an even better playoff? Added Klein as he's still a solid 2/3 pairing RHD and edm seems like they're keeping their D in tact with Russel so a vet presence can only help them come playoffs in the future.

IMO Zucc is better than Eberele so I really don't see the upgrade. Gagner had a great first half but faltered badly. Save your money.

I was debating Gagner for 3 years, or Thornton for 1 year. I don't think Zucc is better than Eberle, and honestly don't love him like other fans do. He's a hard worker and a good passer. He broke 20 goals once and will never do it again. I am also really fed up with the Rangers pass first mentality on the power play. I have this feeling that Zucc leads the charge in the "perfect pass mentality" that rubs off on the other players. Nash and CK need to use their size more at the net, and regardless of what line Eberle is on with one of them, him sniping and the other able to get rebounds would be huge in my opinion.

Why would canes trade 1RD for guy who is just ~10pt offensive upgrade to Rask. Those 10 points not worth it.

You're right in that regard, the 10 pts upgrade to Rask isn't that huge to give up a top RHD. It is also 10 points better than Jordan Staal who isn't going to get better. Stepan imo will hit the 60 point mark, but also he has played Right Wing. I checked Carolina's roster and there are several Left handed shots on the team. He had 45 pts with 21 goals as a rookie as a right winger. He has the Center instincts but isn't great on faceoffs.
A top line of Skinner,Rask,Stepan can be very good imo and move Staal down to 2nd C with Teravainin and ekholm... a much better top 6 than Car has now. Or Step can be a 1/2 C.

He might be nice add to canes roster but there is cheaper ways to get top 6 winger than trading Faulk and creating huge hole on top 4.
