One problem at a time.

Gurianov doesn't deserve a raise over what he has now unless this year proves otherwise. Hints will get a huge raise but Pavelskis 5.5m is coming off the books.

They will lose a player or 2 but they can make it work.

Hearing early reports are that Hintz is already looking at a 7x7 and he likes it in Dallas with the Finnish mafia. Gurianov hasn't earned much of a raise yet and will likely be covered by Glendening's expiry and inflation. Benn's contract expires in 3 years when the big 3 will need new contracts so nothing to worry about their either.

Pavelski is still a pretty damn good player, but he's 38.

Is he expected to retire after his contract expires or just head to free agency, because even at his age a lot of teams would pay tons of money to get him.

Even on a 1 or 2 year deal.

Very good player. But he is 39. He either takes a discount to make it work for the team or he moves on and goes to play on other team at full price. A lot of players his age start taking discounts (see Spezza, Giordano, Bergeron) to try to win a cup at the end of their career.
