One of the worst NHL rosters put together in NHL history, courtesy of Ken Holland. The turnaround that Yzerman has created already in his short tenure is incredible. Obvious credit to the players as well who make it all happen.</div></div>
Yeah lmao, this isn't as bad as it was.
If I had a roster from the prior seasons to this saved I would've used it for sure, but this is the oldest I had sadly.

Red Wings Projected Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>Detroit has a decent shot at the playoffs this year</div></div>
We'll be improved but the chance we make the playoffs is slim, with Tampa, Florida and Toronto locks in our own division and Boston expected to grab the 4th we would need to hope for a 5th spot being available due to teams in the Metropolitan division underpreforming.
And even then it'd be between us and Ottawa, which many analysts say are better than us.
So I hope we make it but probably another year of missing with us probably placing 6th in our division.

Gurianov doesn't deserve a raise over what he has now unless this year proves otherwise. Hints will get a huge raise but Pavelskis 5.5m is coming off the books.
They will lose a player or 2 but they can make it work.</div></div>
Pavelski is still a pretty damn good player, but he's 38.
Is he expected to retire after his contract expires or just head to free agency, because even at his age a lot of teams would pay tons of money to get him.
Even on a 1 or 2 year deal.

Ain't nobody taking those Seguin or Benn contracts. :grimace

Trading a late 4th and 6th to get a 50% retention isn't for no reason.

That's pretty fair.
Stecher could get a 3rd.
I could see some desperate playoff team throwing up a 2nd for Nammy at 50% retention but a 3rd is most likely.
I named it after deadline for a reason so Juolevi will be back by then (hopefully).

He's the type of player they need, plus it's not like they are massive picks.
3 late picks around the 25-32 range isn't that bad at all lol.

Deadline Blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DeadWingsv2</b></div><div>Then there's no deal to be had. There's no incentive for Detroit to trade Hronek unless there is a VERY good return. I wouldn't even trade him for Edmonton's 1st round pick if they keep winning. It would need to be top 15 to even consider a trade. Then, when you factor in taking on the corpse of Mike Smith as a cap dump, that's an additional 2nd round pick. Then Greiss, with retention, is a 3rd. Lagesson has zero value and has already passed through waivers.</div></div>
Fair, could you see any prospects that we'd maybe be interested in?

Talking from a hockey standpoint, if an offer like that came in for an aging player like Staal it's a no brainer.
But good take on NMC, but I could see him MAYBE moving for the rest of the year to win a cup.
Keeping his family in Detroit.

Could this happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>like 1/2 the 1st round in his draft year was defensemen.
Further more a lot of guys in that draft class have yet to really get playing time. Like Bernard-Docker.
So the whole points thing means nothing to me. Hell there are guys above him who have way more games like Brady T. or Svechnikov.
But no matter how you put it, it's not changing the fact that in even strength/5v5 play the guy has 3 goals and 9 freaking points.
I don't care what kind of mental gymnastics you go through to justify what ever it is you are thinking. 3 goals, 9 points.
Last year it was 3 goals 13 points. in roughly the same amount o games.
Lets be clear about it. There is a problem with the play. That is not acceptable production for a 22 year old 6OA.</div></div>
Last season the guy was getting 1st line minutes pretty much every game except the 11 that Vrana played.
This season because of Raymond, Bertuzzi, Fabbri and even Namestnikov he is being forced into a bottom 6 role.
And like Larkin last season, he's working on his 2-way game more and more to the point where he is usually the best part of those bottom 6 lines.
Plus, doesn't that point production with less ice-time not show some improvement in his offensive game?
