One of the worst NHL rosters put together in NHL history, courtesy of Ken Holland. The turnaround that Yzerman has created already in his short tenure is incredible. Obvious credit to the players as well who make it all happen.

Went to a wings game back at the start of 2020 when they played the wild. Wow that team was brutal Jimmy Howard between the pipes was a hard watch for sure

Crazy part is, this is just after the buyout for Stephen Weiss expired.

5 x $4.9M under a $64.3M salary cap. Inflates to $6.4M today... For Stephen Weiss.

Yeah lmao, this isn't as bad as it was.

If I had a roster from the prior seasons to this saved I would've used it for sure, but this is the oldest I had sadly.

Staal was probably their best defensive defenseman and ended up being solid last season in Florida helping them get to the finals on their second pair

This wasn't even the worst. I feel at least with this team, as bad as they were, that the future was starting to get a bit brighter. I definitely don't agree with some of the moves Yzerman made but all in all he's done a really nice job.
