1- I believe Sutter prefers Mang on the LW, also a long history with Toff he'll get a shot on the top line he's our 2x Stanley Cup champion
2. I don't see a small pototes trade at this point, GMs are waiting to see if they can get Mackey or Valimaki for nothing at this point, I think Mackey is showing more potential at this point
3. LOL, I can understand why but he is no longer on the top line with 23 and 13
4. Stone still on a PTO, he will sign a lucrative AHL only contract and will be called upon to join the big club only after injuries or player moves
Love Sutter but he can be too stubborn and set in his ways sometimes. I’ve heard Sutter say he prefers Dube at LW, but never Mang.
I used to believe Mang & Coleman were better at RW and Toffoli would be better at LW, but now I believe Coleman is far better offensively at LW and Mang should be on the 1st line.
Toffoli could do well there but he might be just as effective as a PP Specialist and Playing on Line 3 with Backlund & Coleman. He has a good stick check and was effective Defensively against EDM/McDavid, so I’d make that line the Shut Down line, especially against the Oilers
I don’t see Rooney contributing much offensively at all, he’s a 4th line PK Specialist and Ritchie’s the one who should have an AHL contract. He’s simply taking a spot others deserve more, namely Michael Stone & Matthew Phillips. Let me put it another way, I'd rather have Jake Virtanen or Tyler Pitlick than Brett Ritchie
Swapping Valimaki for Janmark would gain us $300k in Cap Space and give us another depth LW/C. Might even be able to get a late pick thrown in or have a team pick up Janmark in which case we’d save $425k in cap space which is the same as losing Valimaki to waivers
Mackey/Meloche >> Valimaki 🤫
