DAL + TBL fan thoughts?

Description
I made some changes to my original post (https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/336706) based on feedback in the comments section, and would like to hear the opinions of Dallas/Bolts fans. Do these trades work for your teams?

On Tanev trade:
Yes JB said he wasn't shopping Chris Tanev, but this is called the Armchair-GM section, not 'what would Jim Benning do?' I think Drouin is a magician and has the elite potential the Canucks are sorely lacking. Tamba Bay can't afford to resign all of their free agents and need help on the blue line. Tanev is a solid top 4 defenceman entering his prime years at a reasonable cap hit, exactly what Yzerman is looking for. Vancouver also has the cap space to help Yzerman out by taking on Callahan's monstrous contract.

On Edler trade:
Yes I know JB said he isn't looking to move Alex Edler (see above), but by signing vancouverite Karl Alzner to a 3 year contract the Canucks gain some experience in defence to guide their fresh faces. Following Edler's impressive performances at the IIHF World Championships with John Kilngberg as his linemate, Dallas might consider moving their 3rd overall pick in a weak draft class for some immediate help in their push for the cup. Again, following their acquisition of Ben Bishop Dallas is looking to move one of their expensive, under-performing Goaltenders, who could act as a backup to Jacob Markstrom on the basement-dwelling Canucks.

On Arizona trade:
Outside of the top 2, the rest of the top 10 in this year's draft class is hard to predict. Top defenceman Miro Heiskanen probably doesn't fit Vancouver's needs as a two way LHD (with Juolevi, Tryamkin, Hutton already on the books), so the Canucks could look to recoup a second round pick by trading down with the Yotes, who would love the chance to take the top defenceman in the draft at #3.

Potential top-10 2017 draft picks:
1) NJD - Nolan Patrick
2) PHI - Nico Hischier
3) ARI (DAL) - Miro Heiskanen
4) COL - Cale Makar
5) VAN - Casey Mittelstadt
6) VGK - Gabriel Vilardi
7) VAN (ARI) - Timothy Liljegren
8) BUF - Cody Glass
9) DET - Owen Tippett
10) FLA - Martin Necas

Vancouver gets their potential first line centre in Casey Mittelstadt and potential top-pairing, puck moving RHD Timothy Liljegren (who might have the highest potential of any player in this year's draft and could form a terrific pairing with LHD Olli Juolevi) who only drops out of the top 3 selections due to a bout of mono that severely restricted his season.

On the 2017/18 season:
Yes Vancouver is likely to be terrible again in 2017/18, that's the point (Hellooooo Rasmus Dahlin...). They will likely be terrible regardless, only this way the future looks a little bit brighter with a potential future corps consisting; Drouin, Mittelstadt, Boeser, Juolevi, Liljegren, Demko. Prospects Brock Boeser, Thatcher Demko, Olli Juolevi, Jake Virtanen & Jonathan Dahlen get some much needed development time in Utica/minors, before potentially getting some (/more) NHL experience after the 2017/18 trade deadline. Who knows, Loui Eriksson might even have his trademark rebound season playing with the Sedins on the power play (but maybe that's asking a bit too much).

Call me, JB.

For Dallas, I don't see us packaging the 3OA with one of our goalies. No need to lower the high value of the pick, especially since buying out Niemi will fix our goalie situation for the year.

I think you need to at least switch the 4th to our 3rd amd add a 2ND teir prospect like Cassels or Subban in the Dallas trade and probably add Granlund to the Tampa trade to get the right value. Alzner only comes to a rebuilding team if they over pay him, if Vancouver wants him think 5 years at 5. He's only signing for 4mil if he can win

I think you are overvaluing Tanev for the Lightning trade but its not bad with the cap dump. I think the lightning can get Tanev for less then Drouin and a cap dump. Also Callahan has a NMC and he is not waiving it to go to the west coast.

Tanev for Johnson would be more realistic in my opinion if the Bolts wanted Tanev. But I think the Bolts want a dman with more offensive flare then Tanev.

Benning is already on record saying that he's not moving either one of Edler or Tanev, Edler wont waive his NTC and Benning isn't looking to move Tanev it would need to be a massive overpayment for him to move Tanev he pretty much said.

I could see Dallas moving the Anaheim 1st for Edler, but no way in hell Vancouver has any assets that would be worth the 3rd overall to the Stars. Especially considering the ownership of each team does not get along at all.

Like Bergevin wasn't shopping Subban? ...... and Hansen or Burrows weren't going to waive?.... We saw what happened there. GMJB will get it done if the deal is right. Lots of teams looking for top pairing steady D man and tanev is one of the few on the market. Would not be surprised if a team other than Dallas, TB or Toronto will try and make a push for Tanev's services (Colorado?)
