Description

Panarin + Hjalmarsson = $10.1mil AAV in cap space

I signed Galchenyuk at $4.5mil for 1 year and Beaulieu at $2.5mil for 3 years (I think those prices will be close to what we can expect they will sign for) = $7mil AAV in cap space

So CHI saves about $3.1mil while still having talent replace the people they traded, and get younger in the same process.

I think this is fair, no?

I think the trade is fair for both teams but doesn't Habs need a center more than a winger? With Galchenyuk gone the team looks pretty thin at center. Also, Caps can't take on Emelin's contract.

I think it probably takes both 2nd rnd picks to convince Vegas to take Plekanic
