We can’t fit that extension without other moves. Trocheck may not be as good, but he’s better defensively and a lot cheaper than Miller. Moving Nils for a 1st, keeping Chytil and signing Trocheck ended up working out quite well for the Rangers.

Take far more than Chytil to get J. T. Miller out of Vancouver.

And yeah Chris Drury really wants to pay Miller $8,000,000 per for 7 years as his #3C

Also chytil is currently playing better than miller... Throw in a first unprotected and 50% retention and we might consider it.

Chytil, Lundkvist and the 1st that became Lambert was the initial offer that NYR game for JTM. VAN turned it down. And most VAN fans supported it and wanted much more. I think OP is just trying to suggest that hindsight is 20/20, maybe it would have been a great deal.
