I know Knies gets all the press, but I'm so excited for Niemela. His defensive game is fantastic and there is offense there too. In my eyes, he is our best prospect.

For me I’d put Knies, Robertson, and Niemela all in the same grouping as far as potential NHL impact. I don’t have a clear number 1.

But I do feel once Hirvonen comes to NA he will impress just as Holmberg has. He doesn’t get enough cred as a top prospect IMO.

Hirvonen really impresses me. That trade down was so, so good for us. Hirvonen was an absolute stud in the WJC. I think he and Holmberg will hit it off together

I do really like that draft (2020) but there are a few (hindsight only) picks that COULD have made it sick

He was committed to College, he would have forgone that route if he signed a contract.

It is getting a bit frustrating with all the great talent they have brought into their development camps and hardly sign any of them.

The #Gophers are set to face the Boston University Terriers in the Frozen Four. Here’s a brief breakdown with a little scouting report.


“ Between the two teams, no player has been in or won more puck battles than Matthew Knies in the last ten games. Knies has won 74 of the 148 he’s been in, the next closest would be BU’s Dylan Peterson who has won 43 of his 93 puck battles.

This is a crazy stat considering what Knies has been playing through recently.”
