Nucks trade

Created by: GFD1996
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 12, 2022
Published: Nov. 12, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
TOR
  1. Horvat, Bo
  2. Myers, Tyler ($2,250,000 retained)
VAN
  1. Engvall, Pierre
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. Kerfoot, Alexander
  4. Niemelä, Topi
  5. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
  6. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Alex Kerfoot: BC Boy, criminally underrated and made out to be a throw in when in reality he is a forward that plays every position and is easily a 40-50 point guy
Holl: Change of Scenery needed. Really solid number 5-6 defenceman

Niemela: Top RHD prospect
Engvall: throw in to balance out cap numbers. Can possible rekindle some of his potential. Played very well with Mikheyev in TOR

All expiring deals so Canucks can choose who they like to keep or flip others for more picks. Really low risk plus they get rid of Myers who also needs a new place and A top D prospect plus a first and fourth for an expiring Horvat is a great haul

Tell me why a non-playoff team would want 1 year of Kerfoot Holl and Engvall?

I think the value is there, I don't think Myers is going to be included in a Horvat trade because he's going to take some value off.

It's literally the perfect scenario. If they fit really well they can choose to re sign them. If they don't, they can flip them at the deadline for some sort of picks.....

Why don't the Leafs trade them for picks and give those picks for Vancouver? Why should they do that for you?

How so? Why should the Canucks take on 3 players they don't need and HOPE they have value? They can get better deals for Horvat without needing to take on 3 random contracts

Leafs really don't need a centre. Trading three NHL regulars, with really not much of an upgrade and good futures seems too much for the Leafs
