Leafs pass. Holl or Schenn doesnt change anything at all so that 2nd could be better invested.

I would 100 percent take that trade. Schenn has been very good this year and the last and would be a great addition. He brings everything Holl does but does it better while being more physical.

If you want to pay a 2nd for just a little more physicality idk what to tell you. You can get that on waivers.

Barrie is on pace for 60+ points and is winning his minutes. You clearly think he's a cap dump based on your trades, but he's not. Edmonton declines.

The offence don’t mean squat when the Oilers are giving up 3-5 goals a game. The whole Oilers team has poor defensive structure.

Um... great offense is the only way to win with bad defense. And most of Edmonton's defensive woes have been due to a poor PK unit.

You must have missed this part: "... and winning his minutes." Barrie has a positive on-ice goal differential. He did last year too, and the year before that. He's not a liability.

Edmonton declines.

I don't see this working for the Jackets. Defensive ability is our biggest weakness right now, so taking a hit there to upgrade the offense (which is absolutely not a problem) simply doesn't make sense.

And it seems you don’t understand that the team is 9-7-0 right now? Perhaps you also don’t understand that the teams overall goal differential is +1 while scoring geez I don’t know 59 goals altogether this season? Perhaps you also don’t understand that you can’t keep trying to win games 5-4 every game? Not to mention they were pounded by Carolina. You can’t keep relying on a highly powered offence to keep lifting the team to wins. Look at Florida last season. They were a heavily high powered offence and got swept by an actual team. Look at Edmonton as well! They had high powered offence and little defence and it really showed against Colorado that oh god I can’t remember, freakin swept by them?! It never goes well for teams like Edmonton. Good luck!

I just thought I’d join fellow Canucks fans in desperately acquiring a RHD.

LOL. Edmonton made it to the CONFERENCE FINALS. And they got swept largely due to the fact that their goalie was injured and could hardly stand up.

Stupid excuses. And NOTHING to do with Tyson Barrie, who was on-ice for 3 GF and just 1 GA v Colorado, and 12 GF - 7 GA during the whole playoff run. Just another reason to reject your horrible trade offer and your worse narrative.

And you say that like it’s a good think when Barrie was thrown on the third pairing in the playoffs. There’s a reason for it and it’s because Edmonton’s defence just flat out sucks. And for some reason you have a hard time understanding that and blaming a goalie injury and fatigue when you’re the one saying you need high power offence to win with bad defence. It just sounds like you’re the one making excuses for a team that never would’ve stood a chance against Colorado and even right now wouldn’t stand a chance. Perhaps just take the L and keep taking the L’s. It isn’t going to matter if Barrie plays top pairing minutes and playing high scoring games every game. Because the worst part of that is Edmonton still gonna get scored on 3+ times a game. Then you’re gonna pull the “they could barely stand” when the offence fizzles out. Sure. Makes total sense.

What a load of gobbledygook.

Their offense didn't "fizzle out" against Colorado and here's proof. Here's how each of Colorado's opponents fared against the eventual Cup Champions during the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring. All numbers are 5v5 play.

CF/60
NAS: 51.55
STL: 43.64
EDM: 62.13
TBL: 49.77

SF/60
NAS: 29.24
STL: 24.50
EDM: 32.01

GF/60
NAS: 1.81
STL: 2.30
EDM: 3.45
TBL: 2.60

xGF/60
NAS: 2.04
STL: 1.82
EDM: 2.72
TBL: 1.74

SCF/60
NAS: 21.71
STL: 18.37

TBL: 23.79

HDCF/60
NAS: 9.95
STL: 6.89
EDM: 15.06
TBL: 8.99

But once again, this has NOTHING to do with your trade proposal, which Edmonton rejects.

You do know they were still heavily outscored 22-13 against Colorado? 11 of those goals came from games 1 and 4. Shut out one game and still got their butts kicked in the other. And either way Colorado still averaged 4+ goals a game on them. Not a good sign and Holland did nothing to address that issue. The overall structure of the team is just not very good honestly.

And Colorado didn’t have Kuemper for games 2, 3, 4. Didn’t have Girard the whole series. Lost Kadri in game 3 and didn’t have him in game 4 and the Oilers still got beaten cause of bad defence and sure goaltending wasn’t good but what else can you expect. You have a 40 year old Mike Smith in net. Even injured if hardly blame him. In order for a true winning team they must be all round good at hockey. And Edmonton was not that and they still are not that. I told you the overall series score against Colorado and you say “WhAt PaRt Of InJuReD gOaLiE dO yOu NoT uNdErStAnD”? Damn man I didn’t know the injured goalie was supposed to score goals as well.

No, I expect the goalie to stop his share of shots. The Oilers scored 13 goals in 3 games (and got shutout in the other), that's 4.33 GF/GP. That should be enough to win at least 2, maybe 3. Scoring goals wasn't the issue, allowing them was.

But again, none of this has anything to do with your poor trade idea.

Have a nice day.

Have fun when the Oilers lose again. Myers at least plays defence in a top 4 role. The Canucks just stink. He’d be a hell of a lot better than Barrie on an already offensive powered blue line with little defence.
