Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 16, 2022
Published: Nov. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I defy you to tell me this 1. isnt completely realistic and 2. That Kenny Holland wouldn't be extremely down to do this. Probably just hasn't crossed his mind yet. Also it will be way easier if they just turn injuries off as they cant call anyone up with this cap space

That Blues offer isn't even remotely close to realistic. Somebody else can comment on #2.

Tarasenko and O’Reilly shouldn’t get more than a 1st and a B prospect each. Look at the Duchene rental trade and that’s probably what they can expect .

First of all, you've skipped right around the retention. That alone will run a 24 1st. Secondly, thinking one could get BOTH of these guys, WITH retention, and not come off that 23 1st is just delusional. Pushing picks off two and three years reduces their trade value today. Thing the third, those two roster players are probably of almost no interest to the Blues. PLUS, taking them back along with the retention puts the Blues over the cap by a sizable amount, so it's not even possible in that regard. Finally, you're trippin' if you think Tarasenko should get less than or even equal to what Chiarot got last spring. Like whaaaat? That's just nuts. And on top of alllllllllll that, the Blues are not done utilizing those players yet. As often bad and weird as they've played so far, they're still at .500. Their season is not being packed in at this time. That's not how it works in STL.

I say again: This offer isn't even remotely close to realistic.

Not when they need to go and replace ROR with a new C it doesn't.
