NYR fans haven't given up on him because we've watched the way GG has deployed him every game. Laffy has never been constantly put in a position to succeed. In the limited times he has (the end of his rookie season and the beginning of this season) he played admirably for a player learning how to be a top line guy. His possession numbers are fantastic. He doesn't get any time on PP1 and his PP2 numbers are low because all the PP2 does is give the puck to Trouba to shoot from the point in hopes of a rebound. It's infuriating how NYR are forcing their top prospects into that checking type role. Anyways, rant over. For NYR to really consider giving up Laffy I would say an unprotected 1st in 2023 would have to be included in any deal for ME to like the deal. And then potentially more depending how high MTL is in the standings.
