Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 8, 2022
Published: Dec. 8, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The world according to Thomas "the dolt" Drance

Necessary cap room to sign Horvat and Kuzmenko next season at about 12-14 million combined
Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Lucic, Milan
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Don't see how they get a better return than this. Boeser rep is bad rn with pundits saying money needs to go back and the return is "minimal" He's never scored more than 29 goals in a year despite amazing deployment. Mikheyev and Kuzmenko have outperformed him. He's got 4 goals this season for a 1 dimensional goal scorer that is quite bad.
Lucic waives as he's looking for a new contract. He is much more like to get a deal in Vancouver as a depth option and he goes home!
CGY
  1. Boeser, Brock
Additional Details:
Canucks get that cap room to extend Horvat. This is the idea that is pushing Vancouver to trade Boeser fast. Yes, they are desperately trying to move money rn
2.
VAN
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (TOR)
3.
VAN
  1. Zboril, Jakub
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (BOS)
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
The best part of a quick Boeser trade is that you can move Garland up to play with Petey who's on a 103 point pace and is shown he's that elite player. Garland is traded at the TDL to the Bruins, who are making another run. Garland's style of play would mesh well in the Bruins bottom 6 with so many having a renaissance like Nick Foligno

That’s a terrible trade for the Nucks.

B’s accept then immediately flip him as they don’t have the cap space or the need for him this year or beyond.

Bruins mix is really good right now, but if they can make the money work that deal is too good to pass up.

We just flip him for a pair of 2nds and say thank you.

Our 3rd line wings are on pace for 50 goals combined. Simply no need for him and his presence only blocks Lysell’s eventual path to the NHL.

Value wise to great to pass up. Logistically he’s not a fit.

Thats easier said than done, depends on timing of when you're playing games, etc. 2nd Deal would probably need to be decided ahead of time. value coming back to Vancouver isn't realistic either which probably changes everything anwyas

Oh I know. Point was don’t want him don’t need him. But if you are giving him away…
