I think this makes less sense for Columbus. Garland hasn’t had a spot on the Canucks since they signed Mikheyev in the free Agency, he has severely underperformed this year. Elvis replaces Demko, both goalies are horrendous right now so that’s essentially swapping cap. Miller’s contract will be haunting the canucks down the road. Laine will have a place that makes sense. And giving up the prospects for a 2023 first is extremely worth it.

If Canucks trade boeser elsewhere Laine becomes their goal scorer. He replaces miller on the pp. pettersson and laine on either side (both strong sides) would be lethal.

Elvis for Demko just trades cap

Upgrade prospect pool and add garland for a lottery pick, and probably top 5 with Cbjs play right now

Also Canucks save on cap immediately and in the future when JTs horrendous extension comes into play next year

Canucks would be stupid to not take this.

They would be stupid to take it. Obviously the first is protected. Demko is FAR more valuable than Elvis. Canucks don't need goal scoring, we're 6th in the league last I checked. So Laine is pointless for us, not to mention he's over paid, and doesn't seem to do well in media heavy cities.

Jackets aren't moving thier 1st rounder and this trade doesn't work for either teams situations. Two bottom feeding teams aren't usually good trade partners.
Vancouver looks to trade Horvat to a contender, they're the only ones what will fork up real value for him as a UFA

There is nothing wrong with Miller's extension. JT is still a PPG player and his defensive game is blown way out of proportion
